    hey, primary 7
I hope some of you really will make the gas masks for 2007!
There’s some air vent tubing lying around in the science area but I’m sure you will be able to come up with some really inventive design ideas using all sorts of interesting materials. They would make a really good display in your classroom.
    Good luck and good designing.
P.S. I could let you have some strong glue from my secret glue bunker!

  2.   Kirsty Says:

My gas mask is a nice colour to make it more trendy and attractive. It also has some nice patterns on it to make it a bit more fun. I thought that the inside of the gas mask should be padded with a cushiony material to make it more comfortable to wear.

  3.   Jenna Says:

My gas mask is a bright colour with lots of patterns on it to make it a bit more trendy. Inside there is silk and velvet with lots of padding. The smell could change to a smell fruit this would make it a lot more comfortable to wear

  4.   Daniel Says:

My gas mask will be different in two ways; It will be lighter and less hot and sweaty. To make the mask lighter I would replace the glass eyepieces with plastic and make the filter smaller. I would also replace all the heavy metal parts with something lighter like aluminium or plastic.
To make the gas mask less hot and sweaty I would change the material to make it more comfortable and less sweaty. If I didn’t change the material I would give the mask a cotton lining to absorb the sweat and to make the mask more comfortable.

I made my gas mask from cardboard, then cut three holes for the nose peace and the eyes, I put goggles in the eye holes, then put a tin in the other, I then coverd it in sponge to make it softer and then drew funky designs on it.

  6.   Lewis Ch Says:

My gas mask is made from a craft mask, milk bottle lids and a pringle tube. I made it by cutting holes in the milk bottle lids and stuck them over the eyes of the mask. I cut off the bottom of the Pringle tube, shaped it, put holes in the end of it and stuck it over the nose and mouth. Then I covered the whole mask in masking tape and painted it black.

  7.   Rebecca Says:

My gas mask has star shapes instead of holes and that means that it will let a lot more air in. The straps are different colours and they are soft so that will make it better for your head. I’ve added eye lashes and put lightning streaks. To finish it off with denim material over the rubber.

My gas mask is brightly coloured its covered in harts and stars to make it look nice.I thought My gas mask could be made out off soft material to make it comfortable to wear so it would not be uncomfortable and make scratches all over my face when i had to wear it.

My gas mask Is very colourful and it has an Ipod made into it. It would also be made of softer material and has lots of padding, the filter will have sent which is optional you can have cinnamon, spring meadow, lemons and no sent if you are not bothered. It will also be able to sync with a computer and itunes to put all the latest music and video’s which you can view on the right eye piece.

  15.   Kelly Says:

I used a piece of cleaning cloth to make the mask. The nose piece was made from the top half of a juice bottle. I made holes in the cloth, then I stuck cellophane over the top of the holes for eye holes. Then I stapled elastic on the cloth for the straps. The top of the bottle is the original filter. The top has holes in it. For Red Nose Day, you can even use your red nose as a filter for it!
