As part of our multi-cultural assembly in a couple of weeks, each class has to find out about a country and present the information at the assembly.  Please look at the 3 websites listed here and write 3 interesting facts about Germany, in the form of a comment to this post, by Wednesday 14th February.

    3),Koenig made a sculpture called The Sphere located at the site of the World Trade Center in new york but he called it Große Kugelkaryatide it was 27 feet tall The sphere was placed here on March 11, 2002 in memory of all who lost their lives to terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center.

    Germany is probably most remembered for Adolf Hitler’s activities leading to World War II, and the atrocities committed during the Holocaust.

    At the end of World War II, Germany was divided into East Germany and West Germany. East Germany maintained a communist government, while West Germany was a capitalist society. In 1990, the Berlin Wall was torn down, reuniting the country.

    Germany is divided into 16 states, each state has its own German dialect, customs, traditions and architecture.

    My three facts about Germany are
    At the end of WW1, Germany had some of their land took off them. This included Poland, Austria and a little bit of France.
    The capital of Germany is Berlin, but before 2000, the capital city of Germany was Munich.
    Both World Wars were started by Germany. Hitler started WW2, and WW1 was started by Kaiser Bill (grandson of Queen Victoria).
